Tea is good for you, red, green, black or white – tea is good for your health. But what you might not know is that white tea is now in the works to be used as a weight loss treatment.
A German research team found that extract from the young, unoxidized leaves used to make white tea have a great fat fighting power. The researchers found that treating mature fat cells with an extract of the least-processed form of camellia sinensis, or Chinese white tea prompted the fat cells to break down.
The researches also found that the tea is able to decrease the generation of new fat cells. How does the extract do it? It may be due to higher levels of caffeine in white tea, much higher than black or green.
With obesity related health problems on the rise and the flood of products on the market promising to drop pounds, white tea may be the first truly natural way to enhance weight loss in a healthy environment.
