As business owners it’s true that we can’t please everyone and losing some business is bound to happen. However, the question is…how many customers are you willing to lose to the competition? Because, let’s face it folks, when we talk about customer loss, those customers are going somewhere! They don’t just simply stop getting massages, manicures, or facials.

Every customer you lose is a customer one your competitors probably gains. Great customer service is crucial to keeping those heard earned customers. You don’t want a lack of customer service let your customers slip away. Here are 4 ways to win back customers with customer service:

  • Examine why you lost the customer to begin with - There’s always a reason why you lost a customer. It could be price, service quality, or a number of other reasons. The point is you need to know why you lost customers to prevent future ones from leaving.
  • Customer service takes responsibility - No one likes to take blame. But in this situation, a lost customer is YOUR problem. You have to take blame for your customer service and do something to fix it to win back lost clients.
  • Make a special incentive - Your customer is already unhappy. You need to figure out how to regain their trust. It’s not going to be easy and it may even cost you but. If you’re at least covering your basic costs…it’s worth it! Because when you lose a customer, you’ve lost revenue today. You’ve lost revenue tomorrow, and forever!
  • Focus on exceptional customer service - Once you win them back, customer service communication is the key to ensuring that this customer doesn’t walk out on you again. It’s still a fragile relationship and requires TLC and nurturing.
