What Exactly Is A Scandle Candle?
Scandle Body Massage Candles are lotion candles which have a very low melting point, just slightly above body temperature. Melting at just 101 – 102 degrees, Scandle Body Massage Candles are warm, not hot. Clients generally need to experience a Massage Candle, and they are naturally skeptical of the temperature claims because they are used to traditional candles. There is really no comparison, however. Scandle Candles are designed to deliver theraputic moisturizing benefits to the skin. So, once your clients have experienced a Scandle for themselves, they will be convinced. It’s an instant love affair.
A Scandle in the 10oz size has an average burn time of over 30 hours, assuming that you use melted wax as massage lotion as well. When simply burning a 10oz size Scandle for ambiance and scent, it can burn for over 40 hours.
Scandle lotion is melted wax blended from soy and all natural vegetable oils. It has no toxic fumes when burning, and produces very little dark soot in the process. It is biodegradable, water soluble, and very significantly, supports American farmers growing soybeans, a renewable resource. Regular candles are manufactured from paraffin, a petroleum product, in sharp contrast to the soy oil use to produce Scandles.
Paraffin is a byproduct of oil refining. And it has been shown to contain dangerous toxins and carcinogens such as benzene, acetone, lead & mercury when burning. Parafin produces more soot, coating ceilings and walls, damaging your home; paraffin burns at a higher temperature meaning that is burns faster; it is not water soluble or biodegradable; and many sensitive people experience headaches from paraffin candles.
You and your clientele do not need and should never use paraffin candles as skin lotion. Not ever. And candles that are soy wax are not much better. Scandles are made of soy oil, along with other natural oils. It is not simple soy wax, as are some other commercial massage candles.
How To Tell If A Candle is A Scandle
