Looking for A Few Good Men?

Long gone are the days of ”real men don’t spa.” In fact, men of all ages, backgrounds and lifestyles are seeing spa services as part of an overall wellness and grooming plan.

If you’re trying to lure men into your spa, it’s important to focus on your “marketing ligo” - be it massage, or facial, body treatment or nail care, it’s important that you make pampering sound manly! For instance, instead of offering a “hairdo”…offer a “haircut” or instead of a manicure with “nail polish” offer “man paint.”

Catering to men also goes beyond talking the talk, but also walking the walk when it comes to tailor your spa space to a dudes. Here are some other tips:

  • Offer “manly” massage - Although guys are familiar with massage, they may not have considered seeking treatment at a spa. Offer add-on’s like aromatherapy via Scandle’s Aromatherapy Massage Candles.
  • Offer facials for “fellows” - This will require the correct marketing lingo that appeals to men. Men want to look and feel good without feeling like less of a man, so ‘natural’ is another word that works well in place of ’beautiful.’
  • Body treatments for boys - Again, stick to neutral phrases and certainly maintain a ‘ guys only’ section on your spa menu that includes some body treatments like a Scandle Herbal Scrub on feet and legs during a pedicure service.
  • Gender Neutral Hand and Foot Care - Use guy terms. Just like ‘Sports Massage,’ think ‘Handyman Manicure.’ ‘Soft, supple hands’ will not appeal to men.
