Post-Workout Skin Care- 5 Steps

So I thought I had finally nailed my perfect skin care regimen. Clean, tone, moisturize, overnight creams, and masks twice a week. So why all of a sudden am I experiencing horrible breakouts? It could be that I’ve started a rigorous cardio kickboxing boot camp and haven’t been practicing a post-workout skin care routine. Do you have a routine for combating dirt, oil, and sweat after a workout?

Check out these 5 simple steps:

1) Use two separate towels- Avoid wiping off sweat with your hands during your workout. Bring two towels to the gym- one towel for your body and the other ONLY for your face.

2) Wash your face ASAP- Leaving sweat and oil on your face will lead to acne. Pack a foaming cleanser in your gym bag and wash immediately following your workout.

3) Moisturize- Instead of coating a thick lotion on your face, opt for a lightweight moisturizer for your skin type.

4) Baby Powder- If you don’t have time to shower immediately, apply baby powder to absorb oil and prevent body acne.

5) Drink Up!- Water, water, water! The most important step is to hydrate your skin!
